Both VT Markets and Xtrade let you trade forex via CFDs/spot. VT Markets lists about 1,000 tradeable symbols, while Xtrade offers 482. Xtrade provides more forex pairs (56 vs 39), which may appeal to currency-focused traders. For stocks, neither broker lets you buy real U.S.-listed shares, but VT Markets does offer real, exchange-traded shares on select international markets, whereas Xtrade does not. Both brokers support cryptocurrency derivatives, but neither lets you buy actual crypto.
VT Markets also includes copy trading, a feature Xtrade lacks. For Range of Investments, both are rated 3.5 stars by ForexBrokers.com; however, VT Markets ranks #40 of 63 and Xtrade ranks #50. In short, choose VT Markets if you want more total instruments, access to some international exchange-traded shares, and copy trading. VT Markets and Xtrade both offer free demo (paper) accounts and web-based trading, plus the ability to place trades right from the chart. The key difference is platform choice: VT Markets does not have its own in-house platform but supports MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 and also provides a Windows desktop download and copy trading. VT Markets and Xtrade both offer iPhone and Android apps and each earns 4 stars for mobile trading. That said, ForexBrokers.com ranks VT Markets higher (#45 of 63) than Xtrade (#54 of 63). VT Markets includes price alerts and lets you build watchlists with real-time quotes, while Xtrade offers neither feature. Neither app supports watchlist syncing with the web platform, and neither will auto-save your chart drawings.
Charting is where VT Markets pulls ahead. Its mobile app provides 30 technical studies, plus the ability to draw trendlines and switch among multiple time frames for stock and forex charts. Xtrade does not specify how many studies its mobile charts include, and its app lacks trendline drawing and multiple time frames. If you value alerts, stronger chart tools, and real-time watchlists on the go, VT Markets is the better fit; if you just need basic iPhone and Android access, both brokers deliver that.
