CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Between 51% and 89% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

FAQs

What is ZuluTrade?

ZuluTrade is most well-known as a social copy trading platform that enables investors to automatically copy the trades of other traders, known within the platform as “Leaders.” Leaders share their strategies within the ZuluTrade network and investors can analyze and compare their historical performance statistics. Traders using the ZuluTrade platform to follow Leaders can access a “Risk Score” which provides a rating from 1-5 (5 indicating that the Leader is considered High Risk).

ZuluTrade also provides a number of tools to complement its copy trading offering. Its ZuluGuard risk management tool allows you to set risk parameters for your copy trading – essentially allowing you to set a stop-loss and take-profit on the account level (not per-trade) for your copy trading.

ZuluTrade can be used with a variety of popular trading platforms, including MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5). It’s also compatible with other platforms, including ActTrader, X Open Hub, and Match-Trader, but always check with your broker or platform provider to see if ZuluTrade is available to you.

devicesZuluTrade and MetaTrader

If you use the MetaTrader platform, you can connect your account to ZuluTrade – even if your forex broker doesn't explicitly offer ZuluTrade, thanks to their recent integration.

How much does it cost to use ZuluTrade?

There is no additional cost or subscription fee to use the ZuluTrade platform. That said, you’ll be using ZuluTrade in conjunction with your live trading account – those are subject to trading costs, which can include bid/ask spreads, commissions, and a variety of charges and fees. For example, some Leaders may charge a performance fee (also known as an incentive fee), usually deducted by your broker from your brokerage account. Check with your broker to learn more about their associated trading costs. You can also check out my guide to the best low spread brokers to see my top choices for low-cost forex brokers.

How does ZuluTrade compare to other social copy trading platforms?

ZuluTrade has been in the copy trading game for a very long time and has refined its products over the years to cater better to investors, trading signal providers, and brokers. The range of available tools on ZuluTrade will differ from other copy trading platforms, like DupliTrade, the MetaTrader Signals Market, and cTrader’s cTrader Copy platform.

ZuluTrade has always operated as an open platform, allowing virtually anyone to share their trading signals. This openness has enabled ZuluTrade to build a large and diverse network of signal providers (Leaders). In addition to this extensive network, ZuluTrade offers educational resources like blog articles and an economic calendar to support traders.

One of the primary benefits of ZuluTrade is its large pool of Leaders. This gives users access to a broader range of strategies to analyze and potentially copy. However, there are some important considerations to keep in mind:

  • Potential for tracking errors across brokers: If the Leader you follow uses a different broker than you, there may be a risk of tracking error or slippage. For example, if a Leader generates a buy signal due to a price change at their broker, that signal may translate to a buy order in your account at a slightly different price.
  • Execution quality and delays: Ideally, the execution price in your account should match as closely as possible to the Leader's, but factors like latency or execution delays can affect this. A significant price difference could hurt your performance compared to the Leader's results.

lightbulbRemember

As with any copy trading platform provider, past performance is not indicative of future results. Always perform your due diligence when analyzing signal providers (or Leaders).

What is the best forex broker that is compatible with ZuluTrade?

AvaTrade is the best broker that is compatible with ZuluTrade. In addition to being a highly regulated and trusted broker, AvaTrade has a well-rounded offering with an impressive range of markets, competitive commissions and fees, multiple proprietary trading platforms, and quality research and education. The broker’s compatibility with multiple copy trading platforms, including ZuluTrade, helped AvaTrade to earn Best in Class honors for Social Copy Trading in the ForexBrokers.com 2024 Annual Awards.
