For commissions and fees, both XTB and FP Markets earn 4.5 out of 5 stars, yet FP Markets holds a slight edge in our rankings (#11 of 63) versus XTB (#13 of 63). FP Markets also earned Best in Class honors for Commissions and Fees in 2024. In short, FP Markets tends to be cheaper for active traders using a commission-based setup, while XTB’s pricing sits around the industry average and is most appealing via its spread-only Standard account.
XTB offers two accounts: a spread-only Standard account and a commission-based Professional account that’s reserved for elective professional clients in the U.K. and EU (and is being phased out, with limited availability for legacy users). Average EUR/USD spreads were 1.0 pip in Q4 2023. Minimum deposits start at 250 in your base currency. High-volume traders can join XTB’s Lower Spread Group to receive monthly rebates of 5%–30% of the spread once they hit volume tiers starting at 20 lots (up to 1,000 lots for the full 30%). For smaller trade sizes, the Standard account is typically the better deal.
FP Markets shines with its commission-based Raw ECN account: average EUR/USD spreads were 0.1 pips as of October 2023, about 0.8 pips all-in after adding the $6 per round-turn commission per standard lot. Its Standard account averages 1.1 pips, and you can use either setup on MetaTrader or cTrader. Stock CFD traders can opt for the Iress ViewPoint suite with Direct Market Access and full depth of book, but it’s geared to high-balance or very active clients: to avoid platform and data fees you’ll need the Premier tier or at least AUD 150 in monthly commissions (Iress account minimums: AUD 1,000 Standard, 25,000 Platinum, 50,000 Premier). The lower-cost Iress Investor plan waives monthly fees but offers limited tools and no default streaming data.

XTB and FP Markets both let you trade forex as CFDs or spot, and each lists 71 currency pairs. XTB edges ahead on overall market access with about 10,900 tradeable symbols versus roughly 10,000 at FP Markets. Crypto fans can trade cryptocurrency via CFDs on both platforms, but neither broker lets you buy actual coins.
For shares, XTB offers real exchange-traded stocks on U.S. and international exchanges, while FP Markets does not offer real shares in these markets. Both also let you place orders directly from charts. XTB and FP Markets both check the basics for mobile trading: each offers iPhone and Android apps and supports price alerts. Neither broker syncs watchlist symbols between mobile and the web, so changes won’t carry over. In independent testing by ForexBrokers.com, XTB’s mobile app earned 4.5 stars and ranked #8 out of 63 brokers, while FP Markets earned 4 stars and ranked #20.
For charting on the go, XTB supplies 39 technical studies in its app. FP Markets relies on MetaTrader’s default indicators. Both apps let you draw trendlines and will auto‑save your drawings.
