When it comes to commissions and fees, FP Markets generally works out cheaper than Trading 212 for active forex and CFD traders. FP Markets’ commission-based Raw ECN account delivers tight pricing, while Trading 212 advertises zero commission but relies on wider spreads that raise your total cost. Ratings and ranks reflect that gap: FP Markets earns 4.5 stars and ranks #11 of 63 for Commissions and Fees, while Trading 212 earns 4 stars and ranks #27 of 63.

FP Markets’ Raw ECN account averages 0.1 pips on EUR/USD (about 0.8 pips all-in once you include its $6 per round‑turn per standard lot commission), and its Standard account averages 1.1 pips with no separate commission. You can choose MetaTrader or cTrader in either spread-only (Standard) or commission-based (Raw) form. For share CFDs, FP Markets’ Iress suite offers Direct Market Access with full depth of book, but the ViewPoint tiers can add platform and data fees unless you hit AUD 150 in monthly commissions or qualify for the Premier account (minimum deposits: Standard AUD 1,000; Platinum AUD 25,000; Premier AUD 50,000). Trading 212 offers Invest and CFD accounts, with tiny minimum deposits (1 euro for Invest, 10 euros for CFD). However, for the CFD account, the key cost is the spread: despite “zero commission” marketing, you pay the bid/ask difference. In April 2025, Trading 212’s published average spread on EUR/USD was 2.7 pips—well above the industry average and notably higher than FP Markets’ Raw ECN pricing—making Trading 212 less cost-efficient for frequent forex and CFD trading.
