FP Markets is the lower-cost choice for commissions and fees, especially if you use its commission-based Raw ECN account on MetaTrader or cTrader. Its pricing is very competitive, with low spreads and a flat $6 per round turn standard lot on cTrader forex trades. FP Markets earned a 4.5/5 star rating and ranks #11 out of 36 brokers for Commissions and Fees, and it also won Best in Class honors in ForexBrokers.com’s 2024 Annual Awards. Its Standard account is more expensive than the Raw account, and some of its Australian Iress account options can add platform and data costs unless you meet higher balance or monthly commission requirements.
FxPro, by comparison, has pricing that is above the industry average, which makes it less appealing for cost-focused traders. Its best rates are found on cTrader, where commission-based pricing brings the EUR/USD effective cost to about 1.27 pips, while its variable-spread MT4 and MT5 accounts are generally pricier. FxPro offers some useful features, such as variable or fixed spreads on MT4 and an Active Trader program with discounts of up to 30%, but it still trails many low-cost rivals. In simple terms, FP Markets is the better pick if keeping trading costs low is your main goal. FxPro may still suit traders who want its platform choices or account features, but it is usually the more expensive option overall.
