Best Forex Brokers for Hedging in 2026
Led by Steven Hatzakis, Global Director of Online Broker Research, the ForexBrokers.com research team collects and audits data across more than 100 variables. We analyze key tools and features important to forex and CFD traders and collect data on commissions, spreads, and fees across the industry to help you find the best broker for your needs.
We also review each broker’s regulatory status; this research helps us determine whether you should trust the broker to keep your money safe. As part of this effort, we track 100+ international regulatory agencies to power our proprietary Trust Score rating system.
Our researchers open personal brokerage accounts and test all available platforms on desktop, web, and mobile for each broker reviewed on ForexBrokers.com. Learn more about how we test.
Hedging is one of the most useful risk management tools available to forex traders, but not every broker lets you do it. Your ability to hedge depends on your broker, your account type, your trading platform, and the regulations where you live. In the US, for example, the NFA prohibits hedging for retail forex traders outright.
I've studied hedging for decades, including my years as a futures trader at a US-regulated broker. In this guide, I'll cover the legality of hedging, explain how hedging brokers differ from non-hedging ones, and share my picks for the best hedging forex brokers in 2026.

Best hedging forex brokers
At ForexBrokers.com, we test every broker the same way each year: hands-on use of live accounts, thousands of hand-collected data points, and independent verification of each firm's regulatory standing. For this guide, I applied that process through a hedging-specific lens. A broker that scores well overall isn't automatically the right fit for traders who want to hold opposing positions on the same currency pair, so I weighed a separate set of factors to choose these picks.
Here's what I evaluated when ranking the best hedging forex brokers:
- Whether hedging is permitted. I confirmed whether each broker allows direct hedging, and under which account types and regulatory entities. Hedging availability isn't universal, and a broker may permit it under one license while blocking it under another.
- Platform mechanics. I logged in and tested the actual settings used to switch hedging on or off, including IG's "force open" and "net off" toggle, Saxo's real-time and end-of-day FIFO netting options, and CMC Markets' account netting controls. A broker only earns a top spot when placing a hedge is simple in practice, not just allowed on paper.
- Regulatory trust. Reliable hedge execution depends on a financially sound, well-regulated broker. I weighed each firm's Trust Score, which accounts for its regulatory licenses and oversight, because a failed hedge can leave your original position fully exposed.
- Range of hedging instruments. I assessed how many ways each broker lets you hedge, both directly through opposing forex positions and indirectly through related products like forex options, futures, and CFDs.
- Currency conversion handling. For multi-asset brokers such as Interactive Brokers, I looked at how currency conversion works against your base currency, since this affects how cleanly you can hedge across foreign markets.
I also factored in the rules that govern hedging in each region. In the U.S., the NFA prohibits hedging for retail forex traders and requires brokers to offset positions on a first-in-first-out (FIFO) basis, so the picks on this page are aimed at traders in jurisdictions where hedging is permitted.
I've studied hedging for decades, including my years as a futures trader at a US-regulated broker, and I lead broker research at ForexBrokers.com. CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Between 51% and 89% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
